Health Checks
On registration, health checks are offered for all new patients over five years old. New patients are not fully registered until a health check has been undertaken.
Minor Surgery
Numerous minor surgical procedures are performed at the practice. These can be arranged following discussion with a doctor.

Child Health Surveillance
The practice carries out development checks for all its younger patients. These are arranged by appointment.
Immunisation Of Children
Childhood immunisations are administered at special afternoon clinics or by appointment with the nurse.

Maternity Care Services
Antenatal clinics are held each week when a midwife attends the surgery. Alternatively, patients may be seen at any routine surgery session.
Family Planning
General contraception advice and the contraceptive pill can be given by any doctor or by a specially trained nurse. Intra-uterine contraceptive devices (coils) can also be fitted by a female doctor. Our family planning trained nurse is also available for all check-ups and advice.
Cervical Smears And Well Woman Clinics
Cytology screening and well woman appointments are available with the nurses. Well woman appointments include measurement of height, weight and blood pressure; discussion about smoking, drinking, diet and exercise as well as breast awareness, urine test and cervical smear (if appropriate).

Chronic Disease
We aim to monitor care and treatment for chronic disease with an appropriately trained nurse at least annually and usually aiming for the month of the patient's birthday.
Respiratory Clinic (asthma/chronic chest disease)
We aim to see all patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at least once a year.

Coronary Heart Disease Clinic
These clinics are available weekly and are for patients with high blood pressure or any cardiac problems.
Diabetic Clinic
These clinics are held weekly; please ask at reception for further details.
Flu Vaccination
Available each autumn, this vaccination is particularly recommended for patients aged 65 and over, all patients with diabetes, heart, chest or kidney disease and residents of nursing and rest homes.

Preventative Medicine
Opportunistic screening, eg the measurement of blood pressure, comprises an important part of the normal consultation.
Smoking Cessation Advice
Smoking cessation advice and support is available from all our clinicians.
